Adding MEGApix® Cameras

In an attempt to increment security, Digital Watchdog'southward MEGApix® cameras at present feature a mandatory password creation when outset connecting with a camera.  The VMAX® IP Plus Serial allows users to easily add a camera past just connecting information technology to the NVR'southward PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) switch, simply does non allow users to initially apply a custom password to the camera.

Past default, when connecting a new MEGApix® IP camera to the born PoE switch of the VMAX® IP Plus unit, the NVR will automatically effort to register the camera to its camera list.

To add a photographic camera using the born PoE switch:

  1. Connect the camera to the onboard PoE switch (see diagram below) with an Ethernet cablevision.

The camera should power, and so begin to stream video through the NVR afterward it completes the registration process.

  1. If the photographic camera fails to annals, use the transmission Reset button located inside of the camera housing.

Hold down the Reset push button down for 10 seconds.  The photographic camera will reboot and factory default its settings.

The camera should then automatically be added to the NVR.

  1. If prompted to enter a login for the camera, you may use the following:
  • Default ID: admin

Irresolute Camera Passwords Using Virtual Ports

By default, the VMAX® IP Plus is permitted to use the original default login (admin/admin) for the photographic camera afterwards the initial addition to its camera list.  However, if a user were to attempt to connect with the photographic camera through the NVR's virtual ports, they would not be able to utilize the camera'southward default login.

To change the camera'south password when connecting through a virtual port:

  1. Open a web browser on a local figurer.
  1. Connect with the camera, through the VMAX® IP Plus's virtual port with the following data:

  1. To alter the password afterwards logging into the camera, select the System menu, then select User Management.

Select the admin (Administrator), then click Modify.

  1. Enter the new Countersign.

Enter the new countersign again in the Retype Password field.

Add a Countersign Hint (optional).

Click Apply to save the setting changes.
